Since opening our school doors in 1998 under the patronage of An Foras
Pátrúnachta, the school has grown and continues to improve. We are funded by The Department of Education and Skills and we follow the Primary School Curriculum.
We hope this website helps you to familiarize yourself with the
practices and customs of our school. We hope that your child will be very happy at Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maol and that you as a parent will be fully involved in the life of our school.
Our school
School History
Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maol was established by an enthusiastic group of people, who had an interest in our culture and in educating children through the medium of Irish.
Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maol is a co-educational Irish-medium primary school located in Ballina, Co. Mayo. Officially opened in September 1998, it currently has 122 pupils.
The school is continually improving and we currently have numerous classrooms, 2 learning support rooms, a school library and a computer room. There is a large play area outside of the school, a pitch and a sports hall.
Currently, the school has six classroom teachers, two learning support teachers, two special needs assistants and an administrative principal.
We are very proud of our role in the promotion of the Irish language in Ballina.
Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maol is committed to providing an excellent standard of education through the medium of Irish to all of our students.
