The “Say Yes to Languages” programme is a Department of Education initiative in Ireland that introduces primary school pupils to modern foreign languages and Irish Sign Language (ISL).

The programme aims to introduce children and teachers to additional languages, encourage early interest in language learning, support cultural awareness and multilingualism, and prepare schools for the future inclusion of modern foreign languages in the primary curriculum.

How the Programme Works

· It is for 5th and 6th class pupils

· Classes with Maria run over 10 weeks

· The Language we chose was Spanish

· Become more aware of the languages spoken in Ireland today
